Question Baby Swings?

Does anyone have a baby swing?, If so what brand do you have? & do you think they are dangerous? any suggestions would be great!

As i'm also looking into baby swings at the moment, as when DS was a baby he had a bouncer which we had to continuesly rock with our foot so he was settled & wasnt crying. He was quiet a hands on baby! I'm a bit worried that bub # 2 will be the same! so i wanted to invest in getting a swing this time.

(I want to set it up inside our playpen, as DS isnt using it anymore & that way bub will be out of reach, so DS cant get hold of the swing or harm bub) good idea or not? i've had a few friends that have done this & it worked really well they didnt have a swing though only a bouncer.

Feel free to add any suggestions or personal experiences with the swings! As i'm still unsure about them.

I personally don't like them and wouldn't buy one, but some babies like the rocking motion and it settles them, i think if you were sure that bub would be safe then it's not a bad idea.

We were going to get one for this bub, because Isabell needed to be rocked to sleep and we would have loved a swing with her.
We have decided that we won't get one unless we need one, because we will be trying our hardest to start with a good sleep routine from a early age, so hopefully rocking won't be a necessity for sleep.
I guess you need to weigh up if its something you need, or just want.

We didnt have 1 with Sophie and wont be getting 1 for this bubba. Sophie was happy enough to be rocked in the bouncer if she needed to be rocked to sleep.

You could always hold off buying one for now, see what the new bubba is like and buy a swing later.

I got one for Jaz and loved it. It didn't make her need to be rocked to sleep at all. She did use to fall asleep in it but it was great.
Logan liked it too. He still goes in it but i must admit he is a little big for it but he is a very unsettled baby so it helps me a alot.
I don't think they are any more unsafe than a normal bouncer. I actually put logan in it so i knew he is safe when i have to do something for jaz. The biggest issue would be your DS leaning of the front and it tipping the swing up. The hardest thing for me was keeping jaz out of it (when Loges wasn't in it).

thanks for the replies everyone . I may wait to see what this bub is like first before buying one like you have said. What brand do you have Kerrie?

I was going to put the swing in DS playpen so he cant get near it.! As he's not using his playpen anymore and my playpen is quiet high so he cant jump over it.

For Charli i had both a swing and a vibrating bouncer, she prefered the swing, although ultimately she prefered nappy free time on the floor.

We bought one for Darcy and to be honest we didn't use it as much as i thought we would, in saying that though when we did use it it was great!

Speaking of, i should get rid of mine since we don't use it any more...
